Woman ignored police sirens, lights

A woman drove 7km with police lights and sirens flashing behind her because she thought they were chasing robbers.
Sergeant Tracy Haggart, of Queenstown, said police received a complaint the woman was constantly crossing the centre line while driving through the Kawarau Gorge about 5.05pm on Saturday.
"When she was located by police she failed to stop and continued for 7km despite the reds and blues (lights) and sirens following her."
When she did stop she told police she thought they were after some robbers so kept driving, Haggart said.
The 30-year-old Singaporean woman has been charged with dangerous driving and failing to stop.
